Course Description:
In this class students will create a variety of Northern European style boots with leather bottoms. Students will learn to add designs into their knitting using more than one color with the fairisle and intarsia technique. The complexity of the patterns can range from simple to ornate depending on knitting experience. Students will also learn how to knit short rows in order to shape the toe section. When the knitting is completed, they will sew the soles with very fine leather. Students will have an opportunity to make more than one pair if they like.

Time: 12 hours. Completion is likely.

Power Tools: none

Skill Level: Intermediate. All students should be able to knit in full scale and have a basic knowledge of how to cast on, knit, and purl. Miniature knitting experience is desired, but not required.

Materials Fee: $25 to be collected at school
