24 Hour Class Instructor: Course: Project: The Castine Diner (class is FULL)

Course Description: Students will have the opportunity to practice the following polymer clay/miniature food making techniques: texturing, use of liquid clay, resin, mold making, coloring techniques, and caning. The skills learned will be easily applicable to many other miniature food making projects. The students will make their own plates, trays, take-out containers, and condiment bottles. The instructor will provide the metal diner counter. The students will be provided with an optional list of accessories (napkin holders, silverware, stools, etc.) from which they can further decorate their finished counter. The selection will include both basic, as well as artisan made accessories. Decals, placemats, templates for take-out boxes, newspapers, and funny money will also be provided by the instructor. Elements of design and color theory will be discussed. Students will be encouraged to decorate their counter as they wish, so that each piece will be unique. The instructor will provide a highly detailed instruction booklet, as well as lots of chocolate! Time: 24 hours. Completion is likely.
