Course Description:
Students will create from scratch materials the facade of “Thatchers” English cottage and adorn this facade with trailing clematis blossoms and wild roses. The emphasis of the class will be on construction of the blossoms, vines, leaf clusters, and foliage. Students will learn to cut, shape, hand color, assemble, and arrange the blossoms on hand-constructed trailing vines and shrubs implanted into the facade of the cottage. In addition, students will learn to create the facade of the cottage to simulate aged plaster, old beams, an aged doorway, and a faux leaded glass window which comprise the actual front of the cottage.

Time: 24 hours. Completion is likelyif students work overtime.

Power Tools: none

Skill Level: All levels. Students should be comfortable working with small hand tools such as tweezers, small, sharp scissors, Xacto knives, and wire cutters.
