Maine Schoolgirl Work Table
For some time this instructor has wanted to offer this charming example of a Maine schoolgirl project. This soft white octagonal work table provides a pattern that will both challenge and delight the student. The original design depicts Mount Vernon with a surrounding border pine cone motif. The base panels and legs are decorated with fruit, flowers, and vines which all contribute to the delicate decor.
Students will have the option of closely following the original pattern, or may create their personal “one of a kind” table. It is acceptable to make changes to reflect your own taste and style while maintaining the schoolgirl spirit. Students will always keep in mind that these unique projects reflected the personality, skills, and abilities of the young ladies who worked so diligently in their final year of study.
Students are invited to decorate a Mark Murphy creation in the most relaxed atmosphere that can be provided.
TIME: 24 hours. Completion is likely.
