INSTRUCTOR: Hiroyuki Kimura, Fellow
COURSE: Clay Plant Making
PROJECT: Caladium Plant (1 pm class is FULL)

The class begins with the making of the leaves of the plant, mixing clay and color. Students will have the choice of cutting the leaves with scissors or using an original set of punches made by the instructor. This is a very important step. When the leaves are dry, students will paint the leaves and draw the veins. The next step is to create the stems and join the leaves onto the stems. Finally, students will fix the finished leaves into an original pot creating a well-balanced arrangement. The most important point of this class is to make not only a beautiful form, but to make it look more natural and realistic.
