PROJECT: Louis XVI Painted Canape

Students will be given an unfinished cherry wood frame of a Louis XVI Canape. There will be some carving already on it. Students will finish the carving using a moto tool with a flex shaft attached to it. There will be pieces of wood to practice on before they carve on their sofa. Students will learn painting techniques that they will use on their sofas. After the sofas are carved and painted, students will learn how to upholster and make trim and pillows.
TIME: 12 hours. Completion is likely.
