An Artist’s Dirty Sink with Marilyn Crockett (A)

For this clever and whimsical vignette, students will learn wet distressing techniques such as spatter and evaporation. Students will also mount an inspirational photograph, create tubes of paint, bind a sketchbook and learn two ways of making artists’ brushes, including one with convincing bristles. Instructions and materials will be provided for toilet paper, the artist’s essential quick clean-up! A soap dish will be provided with instructions for making “dirty soap.” The porcelain sink, hardwood palette, and other accessories will also be provided by the instructor. Students are asked to bring small, fine scissors and an old toothbrush.
