Basic Silver Soldering with Jim Pounder (A)

In this basic soldering class, students will learn the common denominators to both soft soldering and silver soldering and will gain confidence in their work as they spend the morning practicing their skills. Students will learn the applications of fluxes and methods of heating to ensure success. By afternoon, the students will graduate to working on their desk lamps, including four silver solders, electrical wiring techniques and polyurethane lampshade installation. Students will have a finished triple curved working desk amp by the end of the class. Students must bring eye protection -magnifiers, an Optivisor, or other.
