Students will be taught how to sculpt beautiful little people by using measurements, guidelines, and their own creativity and imagination. The instructor will demonstrate how each part of the face is created to show the doll’s personality and characteristics. Additionally, she will show how to create body language and hand gestures to better distinguish who the doll is and reflect the kind of life or job the doll will have. Each student will choose the gender and nationality of their doll. The instructor will show each step in producing a unique little person to be proud of. The main goal in this sculpting class is to complete the head, shoulders, hands, and feet. Once this is completed, students will add an armature, using batting to form the sewn body and attaching arms and legs. Lastly, wigging, paint, and make-up will be used to bring out the details and characteristics of each doll. If you like personalizing something of your own, come and join Elle for a fun time in creating a truly one of a kind piece of ART… your very own doll. Fabrics, patterns, fabric glue, sculpting tools, clay, wigging, rulers, and needle and thread will be provided by the instructor. Students should bring scissors and special eye wear, if needed.
