Since 1988 IGMA has awarded an individual(s) the Crystal Award for outstanding contributions to the pursuit and recognition of excellence in the world of miniatures. The committee is made up of nine members. The Guild president serves ex officio. They select one nominee, from the list of candidates submitted by you, the general membership. Only one Award will be given each year, that being a piece of fine crystal, which is presented at the annual meeting of IGMA.

The criteria for consideration for this person(s) are:

1. A candidate must have made unusually impressive contributions to the pursuit and recognition of excellence in the world of miniatures. The candidate might have drawn our attention by the publication of writings in book form or by articles in widely read publications, or by lectures and/or demonstrations and/or courses given to widespread audiences, or by long-standing, very active volunteer activities in support of miniatures, or by a major involvement in the founding and/or maintenance of an organization whose prime purpose is the promotion of miniatures.

2. A candidate need not be a member of IGMA.

3. A candidate may be an Artisan or Fellow of IGMA, but that fact MUST NOT be considered in his or her selection for the award. In other words, his or her efforts and achievements under consideration must be distinct from the honor of being an Artisan or Fellow.

4. A candidate may have been an officer or official of IGMA, paid or unpaid, but that fact MUST NOT be considered in his or her selection for the award. In other words, his or her efforts and achievements under consideration must be distinct from their work for IGMA. This also applies to officers and officials of other miniature related organizations.

If you would like to nominate someone for this award, please print out and complete the Crystal Award Nomination Form and send to Tom Sawtell, 141 Granite Road, Guilford, CT 06437-2347 (203-458-3695), Tsawtell@msn.com.
